WHEN DENSITY IS A GOOD THING!
For as much as I love cake, I was never hugely into pound cake. Except that album by Van Halen. Remember that? Oh man. I still rock out to them on my iPod when I’m at the gym. Saw them in concert twice and both times lost my voice screaming “I love you Eddie” to legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Yes, I’m THAT girl. Anyway, back to pound cake the cake. It’s not like I hated it or anything. I always enjoyed it but it seemed kind of basic, you know? I’m the all frills girl. You know me and my chocolate addiction. Pound cake doesn’t typically contain a drop of chocolate. Not that I NEED chocolate in every dessert, but I guess pound cake made me think of old people because it was so plain.
So maybe I’m getting old now because I liked this pound cake. I also started listening to Fleetwood Mac without gagging. I still love Van Halen too. But they’re old now. Oh no! But wait! I bet I liked this pound cake because of the cream cheese. That must be it because you know how I always have cream cheese on hand for everything from cooking to baking to overindulging on bagels.
