LIGHT AND LUSCIOUSLY LEMON!
When it comes to cakes, I have a super-soft spot for citrusy flavored cakes. While chocolate cakes are rich and heavenly in a different way, cakes that have a citrus burst, particularly of lemon, are so near and dear to my heart. They remind me of afternoon gatherings in the summer, when my mom would invite our relatives over for swimming and fun. The adults would enjoy beverages that made them happy while we kids got to splash in the pool and drink lemonade. But everyone young and old was always happy to have a slice of lemon cake. It just tasted refreshing and moist. It really hit the spot.
This recipe for California Lemon Pound Cake really hit the spot for me too. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it is. It’s soft, buttery and lemony. And while most lemon cakes you’ll find will be topped with a cream cheese frosting, which is of course delicious, this one comes with a lemon frosting that is To. Die. For. You’d think it’s lemon overload but oh no. It’s just so perfect. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make this California Lemon Pound Cake.
