The other day at the wholesale club, I was almost tempted to buy a giant box of Rice Krispie Treats. ALMOST. It was on sale and the kids were pointing and jabbering at it. I cozied up to the box and thought, “What’s the harm?” But when I read the ingredients, I gagged. What IS all that stuff? No, no, no. I’d rather make my own Krispie treats. They’ll taste better and they won’t have red no. 5 or whatever that is in there. So my kids cried until I told them I’d make them some even better fresh Krispie treats.
Cooking and baking as much as I do, you know I have everything to make those in my pantry at any given time. It’s how I roll. But I never make them, oddly enough. I’m just so busy making other stuff that these kind of fell off my radar. Until I saw them in the store. Once home, as I started pulling out everything I’d need to make them, I remembered a recipe I’d seen for ones stuffed with caramel and I thought maybe I should make those instead. Not that there’s anything wrong with regular Krispie treats but adding caramel to just about anything increases the awesomeness by about 88%. It’s a scientific fact! Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make these Caramel Stuffed Krispie Treats.
