CHOCOLATE-IFY YOUR PECAN PIE!
Pecan pie is such a sweet dessert. I remember not wanting to try it as a kid because there was no chocolate in it. I was so stubborn. I still am, just not about trying things. I think my reasoning behind not wanting to try pecan pie was because it was made of nuts and how could THOSE be sweet and delicious? Weren’t nuts supposed to be a healthy snack? How could it possibly be THAT good? And then a few years later, older and wiser, I tried pecan pie and I have been a lover of it ever since. I get mad at Mom if she doesn’t make one for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. It’s mandatory, like serving a turkey.
But then I found this chocolate pecan pie and I sent the recipe to Mom. We decided to each bake it and try it out. With chocolate in it, it is like all my kid dreams come true. I cannot even begin to tell you how the melty chocolate will make you weep with joy. It is THAT good. Really and truly. Mom thought so too and has warned me that now she won’t be making a chocolate pie, which she would always offer alongside the pecan pie. She’ll be making this chocolate pecan pie.
