FOR THE LOVE OF CHOCOLATE!
There are few things I love more than chocolate. Actually, there’s really nothing I love more than chocolate. I’d choose a chocolate bar over my kids. What? Wouldn’t you? Oh now stop. I’m totally kidding. My kids come before chocolate. But only by a hair. Chocolate cake has to be one of my absolute most favorite things to bake and even more so, to eat. I can’t be left alone with a whole chocolate cake. I will justify eating the entire thing. So when I get wind that other chocolate lovers will be coming by for a meal, I rub my hands together with glee and cackle. Now I can bake a chocolate cake! Bwahahahahahaha!
That was my evil laugh. Anyway, my friend Susan and her family were going to join us for dinner. She loves chocolate like I do so I thought what better way to welcome her to our home than to make a nice chocolate cake? Only thing is, Susan is not a fancy girl. She’s as down-to-earth and mellow as they get so making a big crazy over-the-top cake wouldn’t have been right. No, it needed to be chocolate simplicity at its best.
