Once upon a time, as a novice baker, I’d make the ugliest cakes. EVER. I would have never presented them during holiday meals or special events. Instead, what happened was I’d eat them in the privacy of my kitchen, drapes drawn, sharing with my kids who don’t care if dessert is pretty or ugly.
