Confession time: long before I was married with kids, I once worked in the ad industry. I’ll spare you the boring details but let’s just say it was EXACTLY like Melrose Place. The original, with Heather Locklear. Not the half-assed revamp they did. Though that was delightfully cheesy as well. Anyway, during that time, we had a creative presentation that included radio scripts for a truck dealership. My boss needed someone to read a sexy voice and I volunteered. I managed to impress everyone in that room, no one expecting that silly little me with my spot-on Ralph Wiggum of Simpsons fame could pull off sounding so sultry as I said, “Go ahead…dare to be dirty.” I still have the original recording somewhere in storage. I should dig that. Good times!
