OUI! OUI! OUI!
“Donuts. Is there anything they can’t do?” Homer Simpson said that. I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. After all, I once used a donut to save my life. No, really. Not the life preserver kind…a REAL donut. I had some kimchi stuck in my throat. It’s a spicy fermented cabbage that is served with everything in Korea. Don’t ask. Anyway, my mom always told me that if something ever caught in my throat, I should try eating a piece of bread to help push it down. The next best thing I had was a donut and let’s just say that moms definitely know best. The donut got the spicy kimchi to scoot the rest of the way down my throat and I thus my love for donuts grew stronger than ever.
So if you love everything about donuts, you definitely need to have these French donuts. They’re called beignets and they’re really pillowy. And hey, they even LOOK like a pillow. They taste like donuts but have more air to them and no hole in the center. Let’s go to the next page (click the Next button below) to discover how to make these French Donuts – New Orleans Beignets.
