The other day, I was dreaming about The Cheesecake Factory. I KNOW. It’s not my fault. I was at the supermarket and when I walked into the bakery area to get a free kids’ cookie for my little one, I saw it in the refrigerator case – cheesecakes from The Cheesecake Factory. I clapped my hand over my mouth and gingerly stepped over to it as though I were wading through an alligator-infested swamp to make my journey there.
“My God,” I murmured. I was so tempted. SO tempted, I tell you. And then I put my hand on the door handle and started to open the case when I noticed the price…$16.99. But I can make my own for less. I don’t need a cheesecake right now. I’m not off to a party. But oh how I want cheesecake! In the end, my willpower won, thanks to my financial sense nagging at the other part of my brain, “You do NOT need a $17-cheesecake just to gobble down after the kids go to sleep.”
