Rich German Apple Cake With Fluffy Buttermilk Frosting!

BUTTERMILK FROSTING FOR THE WIN!

Oh yeah, this one is good. It’s good plain and it’s AMAZING with that frosting. I know buttermilk is something you’d typically bake with, not use in a frosting but try it. It gives a nice zing. You’ll see. You could run out and grab buttermilk just for the purpose of making this, or you can make your own using milk and lemon juice or vinegar. That’s one cup of milk and one to two tablespoons of either lemon juice or vinegar. Stir it up and yes, it’s fine if it’s a little curdled.

Making the cake itself is super simple. Your mixer does all the work for you. Wet ingredients go first. Then dry. Then, the apples. Then you bake this up and boy let me tell you how incredible your home will smell while this is in the oven. It’s better than any air freshener, plus you get to eat it afterward. Cool it completely before frosting it, then enjoy your slice of apple heaven.

I found this instant classic recipe on the Cookies & Cups blog. Click the link below to see the blog and full recipe for this German Apple Cake with Fluffy Buttermilk Frosting.
