COOL BREEZE, COOLER CANDY!
“When I bite into a York Peppermint Patty…I get the sensation!” I still quote these commercials to this day. For those readers who were born in the late 90s, you might not have as much of an idea what I’m talking about, but for those of you born between 1975 and 1990, you know EXACTLY which commercial I mean. They were absurd, hilarious, and always left us craving the cool, sweet, and biting taste of a York Peppermint Patty.
These commercials sure did their job. Just seeing the thin candy with the shiny silver wrapper being bit in to, with its dark chocolate outside and the white minty center. Before long, I would find myself begging my parents for a trip to the store in order to get my fix.
And now? Now I’m a grown up. Which means I can have any candy whenever I want. And better yet? If I don’t want to get up to go to the store and buy my candy, I can make my candy instead.
