Classic Hot Milk Cake!

CAKE IN 7 INGREDIENTS!

The picture makes this cake look dry, like something you’d get at a buffet only to instantly regret after eating it. But don’t judge it by the photo. It is moist and flavorful and seriously simple to create. Use your mixer to your beat eggs on high speed. You’ll need to do this for a good 5 minutes so that it becomes thick and has a bit of a lemony color to it. Then slowly add your sugar until it becomes light and fluffy. Next, it’s vanilla, followed by flour and baking powder until it’s all nice and smooth.

Next, you’ll heat your milk and butter on the stove until the butter is just melted. You’ll take this “hot” milk mixture (really it’s more like “warm”) and pour it gradually into your batter. Beat it until everything is just combined without going overboard. Bake, cool, and then serve. It goes great with berries on the side or if you really need something on top, try some whipped topping. It’s a simple cake for sure, but it is still a light and lovely choice for any time you want a dessert that isn’t overpowering and a snap to make.

I found this old school recipe on the Taste of Home website. Click the link below to see the site and full recipe for this Hot Milk Cake.
