Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream Cake!

SWEET DREAMS ARE MADE OF THESE!

This ice cream cake consists of a cake layer at the base. You’ll have to bake that up in a springform pan in order to stack the layers properly. If you don’t have one, get in the car and go to Bed, Bath and Beyond. They’ve got to have one. But what if you’re already getting started? No worries. According to the original author, you can line the pan with cling wrap before adding parchment paper and the cake board.

You’ll use orange flavored Jell-o to pour on the finished layer of cake as well as in one half of the ice cream. Make sure you split the bowls evenly so you can flavor one with orange and the other with vanilla.

If you’re a beginner to this whole baking thing, you might want to start with something simpler. This recipe was tricky even for an old pro like me. I can’t imagine how badly it would have turned out had this been the first cake I ever made. While daunting, it is incredibly worth it if you are looking for something special or to master the culinary equivalent of climbing Mt. Everest.

I found this dreamy recipe for this review from the Live, Love & Sugar blog. Click the link below to go visit the blog to see some more awesome pictures and get the detailed recipe.
