THEY SAY IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY!
Recently it was my birthday. I’m now…wait, I’m not going to tell you. You’d never believe me anyway. I look much younger than my years. And I act even younger than that. But if you’ve been paying attention to my affinity for all things from the 80s and you have any mathematical sense, you can probably figure it out. As my birthday started approaching, I started trying to figure out cakes. Because my husband is not a cake guy. He’ll eat them just fine, but make them? Oh no. That’s not happening. And I wanted to be prepared since I worried he’d forget to get something from the bakery.
I have to confess that I made a different cake each day the week of my birthday. My husband was not pleased about the grocery bill but I kindly reminded him it was my birthday and he shut his pie hole. Or his cake hole in this case. Besides, none of the other cakes were strawberry. And this one is. And I’m a girly-girl. I love a pretty strawberry cake. I know I’m not 12 anymore, though my eldest said that’s how old she thought I was turning so I’m sticking to that one.
