DISCOVER YOUR HIDDEN TREASURE!
Ok, it’s time for cookies. That’s seriously what I said to myself today. I’ve been on a cake kick since just before my birthday and I’ve sadly been neglecting all other dessert groups. Besides, I finished my workload early and found that I did in fact have time to bring my kids over to a friend’s for a play date. My friend Anna is pregnant with her third little angel so I didn’t want her to worry about a snack for the kids. I also wanted to make something that would knock her socks off. Her cravings have been all over the place lately and just listening to them makes me think of when I was pregnant and all the unusual things I wanted. Like anchovies. I KNOW. And the kicker is I never much cared for them before but I cannot even get enough of them now. So weird.
Oh don’t worry, doll. I’m not making cookies with anchovies in them. Yuck! That’s TOO weird. But these cookies are definitely on the unusual path. All the things in them are sweet and desserty, so don’t worry. I guess what’s interesting about them is that they look so ordinary, but beneath that Plain Jane exterior, they are all that and then some. Anna devoured them, and you will too.
